Project Hope for the Homeless is pleased to announce the receipt of a $1,100 grant from the Western Reserve Junior Service League.
The funding will enable the purchase a a two-stage snowblower for our shelter and for our offsite Senior Care program facility in Painesville, named Hope House.
The purchase of a new snowblower will provide immediate improvement in the safety and sanitary aspects of our buildings. We have a multitude of visitors (facilitators, staff, board, guests, donors, meal providers, etc.) that require access to our Freedom Road facility at various times of the day and evening.
It is important that all walkways are clear for safety. Our Property Manager will also be clearing the sidewalk at the Hope House leading up to the front door entry, which is vital for our senior guests to obtain Meals on Wheels from Lake County Council on Aging volunteers.
This equipment will help us avoid liability issues and minimize the risk to the organization. It will also allow the operators to spend less time and resources on snow removal and, in turn, allow more time to be spent on other areas that demand attention to ensure the men, women and children we serve along with volunteers and staff members have safe access to our facilities.

Last year, Project Hope for the Homeless served 471 guests including 65 children. This year through September, 383 guests including 58 children have received care with an 88 percent success rate of shelter guests transitioning into housing or treatment.
